Hey — I’m still here!
Posted by todd under: Words from cycling sages .
Once a motorist has overtaken a bike, he assumes it to have disappeared for good. He doesn’t realize the cyclist is still there, right next to him or only a very short distance behind, and traveling at such a speed that a sudden stop or diverting maneuver is impossible. Keep that in mind when you are overtaken just before a junction or driveway to the right: chances are the motorist will turn off right in front of you. Drop back whenever there is the slightest risk of this happening.– Rob Van der Plaas, The Bicycle Commuting Book

I found your blog from a comment you left on my bicycling soccer friend, Peddaling Along.
I have read a few comments and felt you should get at least one from a bike riding friend. 8>).
I have you bookmarked and will be a regular here. I’m enjoying what I’m reading. Nice stuff.
See you around.
In fact, I almost ALWAYS wear one (while riding a bike anyway). (On the other hand, if YOU don't want to wear a helmet, I have no problem with it.) I don't remember what happened on this particular day. Fortunately for all of us it makes for a less-nerdly picture. My exceptionally talented professional photographer friend Charles Bertram took this photo.
I asked my 6-year-old son, Caleb, an avid bicyclist and artist, to draw a bike for me. I think he did a great job!
